What a fantastic day the children have had at Brunton Park. The children represented the school with such great manners and pride. Growing into each game with great team spirit! It was fantastic to see their faces as they scored numerous goals and celebrated with each other. Thank you to Carlisle United Football Club for providing the children with this opportunity.

The whole school took part in our annual sports day. The morning began with a range of sporting activities led by Mr Armstrong, which the children have been working hard to perfect during their PE sessions this term. Each activity gave pupils the opportunity to earn valuable points for their house. The morning concluded with an exciting game of inter house rounders, adding even more points to the totals.
In the afternoon, we welcomed our wonderful families to the field for our traditional sports day races, including the sprint, egg and spoon, potato race and sack race. Everyone gave their best efforts to boost their house scores, and the races finished with the ever popular family sack race.
It was a fantastic day of sporting fun. We saw brilliant teamwork, impressive perseverance and excellent sporting attitudes throughout. Well done to everyone who took part. It was an incredibly close competition, but after careful counting, the winning house for the year was Castle

The children in KS2 a fantastic morning at Ullswater Community College taking part in a multi sports camp. They participated in a variety of activities from gymnastics, dancing, trampolining through to team sports such as football and netball. They all tried really hard some of them pushing themselves out of their comfort zone, especially when trying to do a backwards walkover. All the sports students at Ullswater Community College helped, supported and encouraged all the students to succeed at all the activities. A great morning had by all.

The children welcomed back Nat and Jack NP Inclusive Sport, who taught them how to use wheelchairs safely. The sessions began with some fun games such as stuck in the mud where all the children got the chance to be the catchers, Nat explained how this game is adapted for children in wheelchairs to participate too.
The children then moved onto basketball, where Nat explained the three basic rules before the children then had the chance to put them into practice. Some of the games became very competitive!
All of the children then reflected on the articles linked to UNICEF.
The children all participated enthusiastically, with smiles on their faces and lots of fun being had too! They showed great resilience and strong teamwork skills throughout the sessions.

The KS1 children revisited their line-passing skills, this time adding movement and correct positioning rather than remaining static. They were then introduced to tag rugby, where runners aimed to reach the opposite side of the court while avoiding being tagged. The opposing team focused on staying alert and tracking their movements.

The children in Key Stage Two have put all their practise into performances at the Carlisle United Fun Festival . All the children played with big smiles on their faces, lots of great tackles at the back from our defenders. Lots of fun and laughter had by everyone.

A HUGE improvement in their defending, positioning and passing the ball. They all played with an excellent level of sportsmanship and positivity that was commented upon by the referees and other schools. We are so proud of them all.

All of our girls took part in "Biggest ever Football Session" This is a national event to celebrate girl's football. All the girls from nursery right through to year 6 took part in the intra-school tournament getting stuck in, lots of fantastic sportsmanship from everyone involved. #letgirlsplayfootball
